COLTMobile Launches Download-to-Mobile Service

SAN FRANCISCO — Gay multimedia company COLTStudio Group has rolled out COLTMobile.com, a download-to-mobile service that offers users exclusive COLT content for $9.95 a week.

“We have been working on this for about nine months and are seeing great results as more people use their mobile devices for other than just phone calls and text messages,” COLT Online Marketing Director Sean O’Brien told XBIZ. “This has been a bit slower to take off in the U.S. but with the changes brought about recently, especially with products like the iPhone, we are seeing more customers looking to their phones for content.”

According to O’Brien, for a weekly fee, users can access photo and video content, from solo scenes to hardcore video clips.

Users must enter a credit card number in order to pay the fee, because carriers won’t allow restricted content to be billed to the individual’s phone.

O’Brien explained that consumers must also utilize an age-verification system.

“In the U.S. the age-verification is similar to what we have on the Internet,” he said. “However in the U.K. and Europe, the carriers check for age verification on what the call "restricted" content. When a user requests this content they must verify their age through a credit card.”

The COLTMobile service is also available on different types of mobile devices.

“The system recognizes the mobile device and supplies customized content to meet the requirements of that device,” O’Brien said. “If you got to COLTMobile.com from you phone you will get a ‘WAP’ page that fits to your phone. If you go to it from the Internet on your computer you will get a web-based ad with instructions on how to use it with your phone.”
